The Goodwood Festival of Speed is the highlight of the year for petrolheads from around the world, with a mix of the very best supercars, classic cars and all things related gathering at Goodwood for a three day celebration (well, four if you count the Moving Motor Show tomorrow). But if you’ve left it late to grab tickets, you’re out of luck – they’re all long gone. Electric cars - like the Reva NXG - are not a viable mass-market option. Toyota’s head of R&D in Europe – Masato Katsumata – said in a speech that the electric vehicle won’t be a mass-market phenomenon, and that the future – at least in the coming decades – will be petrol engine hybrids. “We don’t see any short-term breakthrough in battery technology” he said.
